## The same paragraph at three levels

Original: Alpine glaciers are melting faster than ever, researchers warn. Since 2000 they have lost a third of their ice.

**A2:** Gletsjerne i Alperne **smelter** meget hurtigt. Siden 2000 har de en tredjedel mindre is. Forskerne er bekymrede.

**B1:** Gletsjerne i Alperne **smelter** hurtigere end nogensinde, advarer forskere. Siden 2000 har de mistet en tredjedel af deres is.

**C1:** Alpernes gletsjere trækker sig tilbage i et hidtil uset tempo, advarer forskere: Siden 2000 har de **mistet** en tredjedel af deres ismasse.

## Grammar at each level

Up to B1, Parloquo only uses the grammar that syllabi set for each level. Each level adds what is listed here. The terms are in the language you are learning.

- **A2:** datid, førnutid, bydemåde; ledsætninger med at, når, fordi
- **B1:** førdatid, passiv med -s og blive, relative ledsætninger (som, der)
- **B2:** Normal newspaper style; only very long sentences and rare words adapted
- **C1:** Close to the original; only convoluted sentences split up
- **C2:** The original text; pages in other languages are translated

## What Parloquo takes care of in this language

- **Word card.** Parloquo looks up the base form, translation, part of speech and, for verbs, the conjugation with an AI dictionary, together with the meaning in the sentence.
- **Noun gender.** For every noun Parloquo checks whether it takes den or det, and uses den or det for things, not han or hun.

## How it works

1. **Open an article.** Open an article in your browser, in any language. On your phone, copy the text and paste it into the Parloquo app.
2. **Click the Parloquo icon.** The Parloquo icon is at the bottom right of the page. Click it or press Alt+Shift+S, and Parloquo translates the article paragraph by paragraph and adapts it to your level, headings included. Ads, navigation and comments are left out. A second click shows the original again.
3. **Look up words.** Click a paragraph, then a word. The word card shows the base form, translation, tense, person, the conjugation table and the meaning in this sentence.
